SERHII MAKHNO IN THE JURY OF THE BUILT DESIGN AWARDS

The founder and leader of MAKHNO studio became a jury member of one of the world’s most prestigious architecture and design competitions, BLT Built Design Awards. Serhii became the only representative of Eastern Europe in the judging panel. The jury received hundreds of entries from all over the world.

The BLT Built Design Awards is an annual competition among architects, interior designers, landscape professionals, etc. The BLT Awards recognize all forms of buildings, projects, and infrastructures that meet the challenges of modern urbanization and inspire future generations. The best works are selected by a prestigious jury composed of experienced and prominent practitioners and theorists: professionals, academics, press representatives, entrepreneurs, manufacturers in the field of construction, architecture, and design.

Each member of the jury evaluates their own specific aspects of the competition projects. So here is Serhii Makhno answering what he will be looking for in the contestants’ works:

“First of all, individuality and a special handwriting. In every good idea, I see either a standard rational “correct” approach or an amazing and indescribable presence of the creator’s personality. The former is good, but I appreciate the latter more.”
