MAKHNO Studio announces a collaboration with the iconic space of Ukrainian souvenirs and embroidered clothing – Narodnyi Dim Ukraine.
The place in the heart of the capital, on Yaroslaviv Val near the Golden Gate, is well known to Kyiv residents and guests as a treasure trove of authentic Ukrainian handmade products and souvenirs. It is a space that unites all friends of Ukraine in a special atmosphere. So, when the idea to update the design of the premises in accordance with modern trends and at the same time conveying the value of Ukrainian tradition came up, MAKHNO studios were invited to implement it.
Currently, the project team is presenting a vision of the future space in the new Ukrainian style, where mazanka walls, wooden structures, natural materials, and colors are combined according to the principles of modern functional minimalism.
“We decided that the space where the artworks are exhibited should become an art object to some extent. At the same time, it shouldn’t take away attention, but rather create the right context and mood. This place is about a modern progressive Ukrainian identity that grows out of a deep tradition. And yes, it will be very photogenic,” – the project team notes.
The presentation of the renovated interior of the Narodnyi Dim Ukraine is scheduled to take place in the near future.
