Breathable Walls

Breathable Walls is MAKHNO Studio’s signature material — next-generation clay panels and blocks, handcrafted without machines or kilns. Composed only of natural ingredients: clay, straw, sawdust, husk, flax, herbs, and more than 50 types of local fillers.

The material breathes with the space, offering natural ventilation and a healthier indoor environment. It supports emotional well-being, lowers the carbon footprint of construction, and follows no-toxic and zero-waste production principles.

Developed over 7 years and based on 20 years of research by Serhii Makhno, the collection received international recognition with the Dezeen Awards 2024 for Surface Design of the Year.
