As a result, the restrained interior with an emphasis is put on naturalness. Simplicity and asymmetry are its hallmarks of it.

The concept defined the main materials to work: wood (ash), concrete, marble, and copper. Wood is a double-target hit.

First, we like it. Secondly, it is difficult to imagine Scandinavia without wood. Ash panels (veneered) connect a floor with a ceiling. Transitions wisely planned to zone the space.

Spirit of Scandinavia

The concrete on the ground floor is complemented by the light wood on the second one. The warmth is created by sandy shades.

Makhno's product design brings a special flavour. Real eye-catchers in the restaurant are the brass chandeliers. Serhii Makhno designed them specifically for IBSEN. Behind the idea of chandeliers (like all the restaurants) stood the sea. Smooth, wavy curves resemble seashells. Chandeliers don’t pour prickly light but fall into the soft rays.

Our product manager hadn’t been searching for a perfect chair. The restaurant inherited furniture pieces from a predecessor. We restore chairs and “dress up” old guys in a Scandinavian manner.
The client said that he would serve only the “first water” oysters. We solved the problem by the RAW bar, a semantic point of the ground floor. No aquariums with half-dead fish. The fish is good not only for eating but also for looking at. Food for the eyes – pictures on the walls and closets (like inhabitants of the northern countries dо). Everything says: “Delicious!”.
