MAKHNO STUDIO JOINED THE RESTORATION OF A MAZANKA SCHOOL IN CHERNIHIV REGION

The studio team volunteered for the project to restore the Likhachiv Lyceum, which was damaged by shelling in March 2022.
The school, built in 1927 using the ancient technology of the mazanka hut, was a functioning monument of Ukrainian architecture until the Nazi missiles destroyed it. Now, thanks to the Smilіvі Charitable Foundation and volunteers, the complex has been rebuilt and renovated.
“Our task was not just to restore the building, but also to create a place for schoolchildren to go to every day, and even on weekends!” comments the renovation project team.
As part of the work, MAKHNO studio specialists selected a palette and developed wall painting schemes. It is interesting that all the shades used are from the author’s collection “Ukraine. Home”, which was created in collaboration with the Kolorit paint brand.
