On February 12, MAKHNO Studio’s CEO, Tetiana Ivanochko, participated in the “Design for Reconstruction: Inclusivity and Innovation” conference as part of the IX Italian Design Day worldwide. The event took place at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and was organized by the Embassy of Italy in Ukraine in cooperation with the Italian Institute of Culture.

The conference consisted of two key sessions. The first part focused on the theoretical aspects of inclusive design, its impact on social processes and the economy, while the second allowed participants to discuss practical solutions. In particular, it highlighted completed projects that show how design can transform cities and communities, making them comfortable and accessible for all.

Tetiana Ivanochko was among the speakers, sharing the studio’s valuable experience in integrating innovations into design and architecture. In her presentation, she emphasized the importance of incorporating culture and traditions into contemporary projects, showcasing the studio’s unique approach to inclusive and sustainable design.

One such socially significant project is DACHA, the first family house in Ukraine for families with critically ill children, created by the Charitable Foundation Zaporuka in collaboration with MAKHNO Studio.

“DACHA is not just a house, but a place of strength for families facing the hardest challenges. The studio’s architects created a space that provides comfort and support, helping families feel at home even in the toughest moments.”

The conference also featured leading Italian and Ukrainian designers and architects. The event was opened by the Ambassador of Italy to Ukraine, Carlo Formosa, who highlighted the importance of collaboration in the fields of design and architecture.

Italian Design Day 2025 provided another opportunity for MAKHNO Studio to share its expertise, exchange ideas with international partners, and contribute to the future of Ukraine through architecture and design.
